CENTRE OF ARTS
SPbSUACE, 2013-2014
The project is located in a park of residential neighbourhood. The site has a lack of cultural functions, so this project intends to change the situation to be better. The building is a centre for the development of various skills (drawing, dancing etc.). The centre includes a small concert hall which was designed with particular attention given to technology and sustainability.
This project explores the relationship between art and architecture. The design development was influenced by the theories and works of Avant-Garde architects (K. Melnikov, I. Yakovlev) and artists (P. Mondrian). This is reflected in the design’s massing, form and spatial qualities. The design’s technologies and materiality are informed by the same theories.
